Day 187: The 30th of January

Today I watched some birds. It was good.

It is the national bird watching weekend at the moment, so the garden is under close scrutiny from my mother and I to see what birds appear. Our house backs onto the woods, so we typically have a lot of birds, squirrels and whatnot. Nature is never far from the door.

The new conservatory also makes a great spot for watching birds. The heated floor allows me to just lie down with the cat and look out into the cold. It is really quite good.

I am so tired. It is currently 3:30 AM and I should be asleep. My friend Jake and I were trying to catch up to our other friend on Blade and Soul, which is taking a bit longer than expected. Ah well, it is all in good fun.

I am going to pass out though, so I should probably lie down.

Day 186: The 29th of January

It’s good to be free…

Free to sleep for far longer than I should, then do nothing for the rest of the day that is. Okay, well that isn’t entirely true, I did go and play badminton as I have done for the past couple of Fridays, but other than that I have been just relishing freedom.

My eyes are now extremely tired though. Probably too much staring at a bright screen. Ah well, I’ve been having fun and that is what counts, right? The weekend is coming up too, so that shall be nice.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Day 185: The 28th of January

I write this blog post just as I was about to get into bed. However, before I leave I just have a few things to say.

I wanted to thank you for sticking with me during these past few months while I have been stressing over university. It really makes writing these posts seem worthwhile. I can’t thank you enough for the words of advice and encouragement that I have been given, but at least now that I am out of exam season I can acknowledge them.

I shall now spend a week recovering before university starts again. This means that it is possible that post quality will improve when I start thinking of things to write about again.

Now, however, I shall go to bed, as Grey cat is walking in front of the screen as I write this. Have a great day everyone and keep being amazing.

Day 183: The 26th of January

Hello everyone! It is I, Elliott, back for another daily blog post.

Today I revised. Just like every other day. It went reasonably, though I still have a little bit more to do tomorrow.

I am a little bit less stressed out now, since I saw some of the other members of my course saying that they were worried. At least we are all in the same boat.

One more day to go, then I will be able to relax completely on the way back to semester start. This semester will hopefully be more chilled and I shall be able to do more fun stuff. We shall see.

Until then, I’ll keep up my short posts. I shall do something else to entertain you once my exam is completed.

Day 182: The 25th of January

Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to Elliott’s panic mode! Today we are panicking about the upcoming criminal law exam.

Two days left to revise. I still have no idea if I am anywhere near ready. Why do I do this to myself?

I wasn’t going to make this a long post anyway, but something else that has annoyed me this evening has been my laptop’s constant disconnecting from the internet. This makes doing anything a bit of a pain.

Day 181: The 24th of January

Well, I said earlier I was going to do revision. I am a horrible liar.

My poor, poor motivation. I saw it fly away out the window this morning and it never came back. It will be back in full force tomorrow though, I am sure.

It doesn’t help that I got up late today, that always makes me feel like being lazy. Also, it is the weekend, so people were around and doing stuff. Makes it a lot harder to concentrate on revising.

No matter, I have three days to revise for Criminal now. I am pretty sure I can do it, too. Lots of time in three days and not that much to revise for one module. I shall try to wake up early too, since that will give me a better chance.

I’m gonna head off though. I need to do some strategizing. I’ll talk later.

Day 180: The 23rd of January

Well, I forgot to write this last night, since I was pretty tired. Ah well, I shall just get to it now!

Today I started my revision for criminal law. Of course, it was quite a slow start as usual, but it is not so bad. I have been doing criminal law for the past 3 years after all. A lot of it is just reminding myself of stuff I have revised so many times in the past.

Other than that, I watched two films with my parents this evening. I do not know the name of the first film, but it was about people sucking up water from Earth. That was a pretty interesting one. The second film was something to do with the Chronicles of Riddick apparently. That one was strange, but good. Unfortunately this did mean everyone went to bed at 1:00 AM, which is much later than normal for my family.

Anyway, I have been going through my old photos on Facebook recently. I mean, there are hundreds of pictures, but I was mainly looking for inspiration for something to write about. And when I look back at all the things I have done my life feels far more full than it normally does. Because I have done a lot of things.

I have been to the alleged birthplace of King Arthur, Tintagel, many times. It is really one of the coolest places to visit. A huge, solitary rock on the coast which has to be climbed via a series of stone steps carved into its sides. And when you reach the top you can walk to the edge and sit there, dangling your legs over the abyss below. Of course, I am not that brave or foolhardy, so I prefer to sit a little way away from the edge.

We always seem to go there when the weather is great. The sun shines and the grass on top of the rock blows in the breeze. Last time there was a patch of rain, but there are some caves within the rock where we could hide and wait it out.

Of course, since the main tourist attraction is that it is a possible starting point for the legend of King Arthur, they do sell all manner of swords and other medieval items. When I see swords being sold it beckons to some part of me that thinks that I need it, despite them being essentially expensive wall-hangings. Last time I instead bought a clock that still sits on my desk today.

Anyway, I am now going to get up, grab myself my water and start on today’s revision. I’ll be sure to get tonight’s blog post done on time. Have a great day, guys!

Day 179: The 22nd of January

Today I did some fun things. Hoorah!

I went off to badminton with my brothers in the evening, played a couple of games of that, then we headed off to eat at Wetherspoons. This was satisfying since I got to build up a sweat with my amazing badminton techniques, then have a cool drink and a burger and consume all the calories that I had just lost and more.

Ben and I also played CS:GO and Portal 2 together this evening, though Ben told me I should talk about a different event if I couldn’t think of much stuff to talk about tonight. It was the time I was kidnapped and taken to LEGOLAND.

Well, not really kidnapped I guess. It was one weekend a few years back, while I was lying in bed relaxing. I was asleep, actually, but that is the same thing really. However, my slumber was not to last long, I slowly awoke to the sound of whispering from my door.

Elllliiooooottt…. Wake up…. We’re going to LEGOLAND Ellioooottt…

As I’m sure you would expect, I was a bit confused by this. However, once Ben was sure I was awake, he left and I staggered out to get ready. And that is what led to me sitting half asleep in the car on the way to LEGOLAND.

Once we were there (It was myself, Ben, my sister Emma and Emma’s friend Beth) we had quite a lot of fun, despite us being the only group in the park without a child with us. We went panning for gold, went on some rides and checked out the aquarium, where we met the greatest man to ever live.

He was half man, half shark, 20% dolphin, 15% seal and 30% dog. But all man. He was… SHARKMAN.

We even brought home a miniature Sharkman, who lives in my room somewhere. He is the man we all aspire to be.

Day 178: The 21st of January

Well, I did nothing today. This is quite the predicament.

Typically when I get around to writing a blog post I have at least one small thing in my head to write about. It usually is something fairly boring, so it doesn’t last very long, but at least it is something. Today… not so much.

Quite frankly, I think it would be easier if I just went to bed. Morale is low for writing another post about me doing nothing.
