Day 808: The 12th of October

What a day.

Trains were shit, lecture was exhaustingly heavy and I barely had any time to myself. The cat is currently sitting on me obstructing my view of the screen. And I need to get to bed sooner rather than later if I am not going to feel awful all day tomorrow.

Day 807: The 11th of October

Well, I mean, I am being a bit relaxed about my work for this semester.

Still, I am not too worried just yet. Once I have all my textbooks ordered and I have my work organised together, things will go well. Hell, I even got a little bit of work done today. Just need to finish off some reading tomorrow morning.

The weekend is when I will start work in earnest. Probably mainly Sunday. Got to get tutorial prep done, my revision notes organised and everything else. At that stage I will be in the thick of the semester at last. Until then I am coasting a little bit.

Some people would call that reckless. I agree.

Day 806: The 10th of October

Thank God for the kindness of friends.

I really didn’t want to have to catch the train home today, with a minor headache and just general tiredness. So you can imagine my delight in receiving a message from my friend that he was staying late and he could give me a lift home. That just made the entire day that much better.

I also enjoyed spending some time with Corwin this morning. Got to take my uncle duties seriously, y’know.

Day 805: The 9th of October

Today was nice enough.

That mainly comes down to all of the nice little luxuries I have indulged in. Car journeys to the station and from the uni itself, nice food upon my return and the relatively late start. Tomorrow has some of those things but lacks others.

Most notably is that I shall be walking to the station tomorrow. No biggie, really, but it does mean I have to leave a bit earlier to get there. At least my lecture is very late and thus I shall have most of the morning to chill and prepare.

Day 801: The 5th of October

Today turned out really positive for me.

My cold is finally starting to die down, so that filled me with joy. On top of that, the trains were fairly quiet, I had someone to chat to before the lecture and, best of all, I got a lift home from my friend. No contending with the rush hour trains today. Plus I got home a whole hour early. So good.

Tomorrow should be alright too. Early start, but early end as well, meaning that I should have a reasonable journey to and from uni. The only trouble lies in the waking up in the morning.

Day 800: The 4th of October

Well, I’d really love to do something interesting for this milestone.

Problem is, I have felt awful all day and this isn’t getting any better with time. At least not noticeably. Tomorrow is going to be a great laugh, going back on the rushhour train through Clapham again.

This cold is debilitating, honestly. Been coughing my lungs up all day, feeding on tablets and just generally acting like some sort of middle-class wraith. It is especially nice that this cold kicks in during my first week of uni, when I could really do with getting some work done early. But no.

Day 799: The 3rd of October

I felt like death for most of the day.

Still dragged myself into uni though, despite looking like a zombie. I bet people thought I was a right weirdo, but I got through the lecture and got back home alright, despite the pain in most of my upper body.

I am so glad that I have tomorrow off to at least attempt to recover a little bit. This cold has come back to bite me hard and I just need a bit of rest.
