Day 247: The 30th of March

Today was a day from hell, at least in the Counter Strike world.

So Ben and I did our usual gaming tonight, a bit of CS:GO. Unfortunately we managed to be paired up with two of the greatest teams in CS:GO (I’m being sarcastic) and then we just played a fairly shaky last game which we also lost. I also lost connection in that last game so I didn’t even get any experience.

The first game matched us up with a team who couldn’t actually aim, as well as a 7 year old who somehow did the best on the team. That was very emasculating.

The second game matched us up with a team of cocky British lads and ladettes who took the piss a little bit and still did much better than Ben and I.

All in all it wasn’t the best.

I just wanna finish my work.

Day 246: The 29th of March

I woke up ridiculously late today. It’s not the best.

Yes, I woke up at coming up to 2:00 PM today. How is this possible, you might ask? Well, that appears to be what happens when you get to sleep at around 4:00 AM due to your friend wanting to play some games far too late at night. I’m not doing that again.

All things considered, I still managed to read all of my law cases over the period of 8 hours or so that I spent doing work, on and off. I count that as a minor win in my otherwise shitty day. Ah well, I will write up an answer for my law question tomorrow. I don’t expect it will take too long anyway.

To counteract my terrible sleeping patterns, I feel like I should actually get to sleep early for a change. I actually feel tired right now, despite having only been awake for around 9 hours. Maybe it will do me good to lie down.

God, but I feel pretty bad right now. Not unwell; though I am that as well, but I just don’t feel particularly happy. I just want this work to be done, so that I don’t have to think for a while.

Day 245: The 28th of March

I did my usual sluggish planning that I do when I have work that I know I can manage today.

Tomorrow I shall read all my cases and write the damn essay, hopefully, so that I can relax for the rest of my holiday. Well, apart from having to revise for my other modules, but that will be easy.

I also ate way too much chocolate today. You have to love a bit of Easter to increase your calorie intake following the period from Christmas.

Bluh. It has been a slow day.

Day 244: The 27th of March

So I have something different than what I planned to talk about tonight.

There I was. It was Easter Sunday, I had just watched about 6 hours of Dune with my father and I was ready for a quiet evening. Suddenly, my Steam bleeps at me. It is my mate, asking if I want to meet up with my other friend since he goes back to university soon. It is 10:00 PM, so it is a bit short notice, but I have nothing planned for tomorrow anyway, so I can definitely meet up.

Cut to ten minutes later. I get another message, this time on Skype, asking for my address. I ask why, and my mate tells me that it is so he can come pick me up. And that’s when it hits me. They want to meet up tonight. They want me to walk in the storm up to town to meet up, when I haven’t even put any clothes on all day.

Yeah, no. That’s not happening. I mean, maybe it would be fine if I had been asked earlier than 10:00 PM, so I had a bit of time to prepare. Maybe it would be fine if it wasn’t pouring with rain and ridiculously windy outside. Maybe it would be fine if it wouldn’t be pitch black when I decided to come home.

So that didn’t happen. And I don’t think I was being unreasonable to refuse to go out under the circumstances. Others may disagree, but to be honest? Screw ruining my evening when I have a week of work ahead of me.

So yes. That annoyed me today. I was going to talk about some other things that annoy me, but I had better keep the negative emotions limited to one rant per day, at the most.

Now I am going to sleep. And dream of large women.

Day 242: The 25th of March

It’s Easter time, ladies!

That means eating lots of chocolate and doing nothing, in my books! Hooray!

Well, it will actually mean writing a piece of Criminal law work in my case, but that is due next Friday, so I am not too worried really. I shall just do it over the week. Should be a breeze.

My grandmother has arrived for Easter today too. She is doing well, though she is my last remaining grandparent. Good on her for being the survivor, I say.

Day 241: The 24th of March

I did nothing of interest today.

Currently I am on Skype with an old friend, being hounded to play old games since he doesn’t have a good computer on hand. Normally I enjoy playing games with him, but it is so limiting when we can’t play anything with any graphics.

I uninstalled Oblivion today, in order to restart my modding process and hopefully do it better this time. I don’t even know how I screwed up last time. Just too ambitious I guess.

I need to start adjusting my sleeping pattern again already. I have been going to sleep way too late.

Ah well. Fun times.

Day 240: The 23rd of March

Today I spent a lot of time modding Oblivion and watching over my sick father.

There is something very enjoyable about slowly putting together a mod file that actually functions when you try it. Testing mod after mod, trawling through the nexus and next thing you know 7 hours have passed and you still haven’t started playing the game.

Admittedly, it did take a while to fix some of the problems I was having with the game, involving some complicated stuff, but for the most part I find it a pretty relaxing experience.

My father is not well, so that is what the other half of my day was. I went in to check on him. He is pretty chill about the whole thing, but he still has to take antibiotics and so he is stuck at home.

Anyway, I shall head off. Ciao!

Day 239: The 22nd of March

I got too into Stardew Valley today.

I ended up playing through the whole of Winter in the game, eventually reaching Spring at 1:30 AM, simply to see what happens at the beginning of Year 3. Turns out, I am pretty darn good.

On the other hand, I have almost seen everything the game has to offer at this point. I have not got married or had any children yet, but other than that I have a lot of the best equipment in the game. Maybe I will finally be able to spend time on something else now.

I had better get into bed now though. I am already staying up way too late.

Day 238: The 21st of March

Today has been another slow, busy day.

That feeling of contentment when you spend the day sipping hot chocolate, playing games and reclining. So good.

I should probably do something useful over this week. I shall probably sort out my lecture notes or something. Should be good.

I had a pretty great dream this morning though. I was on a ship with my own cabin and kitchens. I was a captain too. Very fun times.

As for now, though, I am going to sleep. Sweet dreams!
